There was mention of WPA- or CCC-like programs early on, but I haven't heard a peep about them again. It just seems like such a logical approach to our untenable joblessness. Sure, it would cost money but so what? Everybody would be involved in building our economy again.
That could only be a good thing.Ramona Grigghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07160614050077886238noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2772956368752433326.post-36254376118058292482009-11-12T14:16:16.556-05:002009-11-12T14:16:16.556-05:00You are so right! Why isn't the media talking about it?
One of my employees purchased band aids for the office the other day at our local independent grocery store. I couldn't believe it and nearly lost the top of my head - they are made in China...and worthless.
I volunteer in our local food pantry and it so sad to hear the men that come in for food. Most of them say I want a job, not a hand out.
Yes, bring back the WPA and the CCCs.
Thank you for your words of wisdom.Monanoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2772956368752433326.post-70038243010777044522009-11-12T09:23:45.163-05:002009-11-12T09:23:45.163-05:00Kyle, it's beginning to feel like serfdom, isn...Kyle, it's beginning to feel like serfdom, isn't it? They demand, we serve--or else. But you're right--we DEMAND that diet! (Now if we can just get our leaders to agree.)

Ken, hard work is a given for the working class. Serfdom indeed. ...Ramona, another wonderful piece.

Serfdom indeed. Meaningless work yields a meaningless society. Meaningless trinkets yelds a vain, detached society, supported by ever distant slaves.

I don't think we need to convince the fat cats, I think we just need to forcibly put them on that diet.Kyle Leachhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13369076904327452139noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2772956368752433326.post-8087636972365946622009-11-10T13:11:53.960-05:002009-11-10T13:11:53.960-05:00You bet, Anon.
