Thousands of people lining up for jobs is nothing new, unfortunately. It's been going on for years now, ever since the Fat Cats saw the beauty of off-shoring and outsourcing. It not only gave them slave labor, but it gave them ammunition against the unions. Don't like it? We'll move out of the country. So now we're all peons, and the nutcases are having tea parties instead of working to build a country again.

I think we have our work cut out for us.

Thanks for writing.Ramona Grigghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07160614050077886238noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2772956368752433326.post-15753837110940576562010-03-23T12:25:40.304-04:002010-03-23T12:25:40.304-04:00Ramona, I'm glad you posted this and brought i...Ramona, I'm glad you posted this and brought it to our attention. Recently, I saw several local job fairs canceled. I thought it was localized blip, as they were all being sponsored(is that the right term) by the same local group. From your article it seems this may be a much broader, more calculated effort than I thought. Just doing G search yielded a wealth of fairs, across the nation, that were recently canceled, surprisingly many due to fear of crowds. As Mame would say, "knowledge is power."Kyle Leachhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13369076904327452139noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2772956368752433326.post-36413862803514430412010-03-15T18:19:16.464-04:002010-03-15T18:19:16.464-04:00Hi Stan, I guess I actually was kind of surprised ...Hi Stan, I guess I actually was kind of surprised there were still job fairs. Thousands of people will stand in lines for hours or even days just for a chance at a job they probably wouldn't have even bothered looking at a few years ago.

The Repubs are going to have to look at the damage they do by giving a pass to the businesses and organizations that are destroying our middle class. It's going to trickle up to them eventually. They can't make money off of people who don't have any--a fact that so far has eluded them.Ramona Grigghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07160614050077886238noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2772956368752433326.post-76991583225761570372010-03-13T12:15:30.474-05:002010-03-13T12:15:30.474-05:00Nice post, Ramona. It's kid of scary that the job fairs are not being held, but then again, maybe they shouldn't spend money on these kinds of events if they aren't necessary. It'll leave them more money for hiring workers.

I do wish the Repub.Conservative twits would just give it a rest or just plain go away.Stan in NHhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09473396450228240345noreply@blogger.com
