A veritable self-foot-shooter. But he has a huge heart and he says out loud that he loves the blue collars and the middle class. We need him now and I'm going a'courtin'.

(His comment to Gonzo is pure Biden--out of his mouth and into the eternal air. As was his comment about Obama. . .he's "clean". Oh, God! But that's him--our one and only Joe.)Ramona Grigghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07160614050077886238noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2772956368752433326.post-71308259105627910302011-03-26T11:27:23.944-04:002011-03-26T11:27:23.944-04:00I know that Biden is a hack and that he was regard...I know that Biden is a hack and that he was regarded as the Senator From MBNA, and I can never, ever forget or forgive him saying to Alberto Gonzales, "I like you. You're the real deal." But underneath all the hackery, there's still a human being there. And looking back now, I'm starting to think that of all the candidates who ran for president in 2008, Biden, in retrospect, would have been the best choice.Jillhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03865082576641051315noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2772956368752433326.post-18013385727478774712011-03-25T18:24:56.601-04:002011-03-25T18:24:56.601-04:00Alan, I'm glad to hear that about Trumka. He's smart without pretense, and has enough "yokel" in him to surprise his adversaries when he gets the best of them.

As for the GOP, I think whoever they choose for 2012 is going to have a little crazy in them. The only one who might be the most "normal" would be Romney but the crazies don't like normal. It'll be interesting.Ramona Grigghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07160614050077886238noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2772956368752433326.post-52302309034989477732011-03-25T11:19:21.521-04:002011-03-25T11:19:21.521-04:00"Supermoon" night looked pretty much lik..."Supermoon" night looked pretty much like any cloudy night in Minnesota to me.

I had the pleasure of being the video engineer last year at an AFL-CIO Building Trades conference in Minneapolis. Richard Trumka was the keynote speaker. He lit the place up. And I used to be union myself, before I was self-employed. Still am, inside. And the grandson of a union man, even.

We simply have to do better at getting that message out, and in ways that resonate with 21st century America. We can't expect anyone, from the White House on down, to do it for us. It has to be bottom-up.

(I'm not going to get into anything re: President Obama's involvement or non-involvement in anything, do not expect me to.)

And don't you wonder what must be going through the minds of Newt, Huckabee, Romney, Pawlenty, and the rest now? They were trying to appeal to the crazy, and it's jumped into the fray on its own. How exactly can anyone out-crazy Michele Bachmann? Is that even possible?Alanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06939468809703630844noreply@blogger.com
